Have you discovered any new bands lately?

Post by Jordan311 »

Personally I have not. This makes me sad.

Have you been turned onto any new bands lately? And if so what are they like, and/or post a video or something.

Used to hate them, but then took a deeper listen into the album(s) outside of what's on FM- Not bad. I'd say the same about Mumford and Sons as well....HATED thier stuff previously. So I guess neither of those really counts as new either huh?

New to us, I really enjoy mumford in sons.

also

A friend of mine burned these two for me when I went on a weekend trip to Connecticut and NYC, part of my reason for enjoying these two bands may be because I had such a fun time.

jordan doesn't hear new bands because he's close-minded and doesn't take recommendations from me even when they're 100% tailored towards him

Miss May I. They've been out a little while but they can shred. Check out the album "apologies are for the weak" if you're a fan of metal.

I'm a huge fan of metal but god damn they suck. Sounds like every other generic metal band out there.. I have a hunch they are christian rockers too. Yuck.

I've just gotten into sikth here recently as far as metal goes.

And I've fallen in love with Laura Veirs. Great song writer/guitar player. You will dig this element.

Jump up and down cuz that's the 311 style!

You just named several bands that I LOVE. If you all haven't heard of Yeasayer, that's a MUST. Band of Horses!! Here's a cool dubset of the funeral

I don't think all christian rock is "yuck." For example, P.O.D. happens to be one of my favorite bands, and they've probably sold just as many albums as 311 has. Heck, if anyone here listens to roots reggae, they're essentially listening to christian music.

I'd say 99.9% of christian metal/rock is "yuck" POD included. But to each his own i guess (not really).

I just hate all these screamo groups with all their breakdowns and keyboards and other gay shit. And for whatever reason, a majority of these shitty bands are christian. My girlfriends brother listens to bands like parkway drive, in the midst of lions, devil wears prada, etc, and tries to tell me that they are musically above and beyond bands like between the buried and me or lamb of god. Fucking ludicrous.

BREEEAAAAKDOOOOWNS RULE yea all these bands love the lord

The human abstract. I'm already obsessed. Their new album digital veil is wicked... its like hardcore progressive metal. Their old stuff is good too but different due to changes in vocalists and just about everybody else in the band. They remind me of protest the hero a bit. Their musicianship is rediculous.
