Joy Division
Joy Division
anyone like Joy Division. If you've ever heard of new order, joy division was the preceding group before Ian Curtis' suicide. I can't believe how great this band is. Unknown Pleasures and Closer defined post-punk. If you like interpol's first album, turn on the bright lights, you might find this interesting.

Re: Joy Division
always dug joy division.
Re: Joy Division
new order is great too. It's a shame Ian Curtis had such a troubled life. Contextually, there really isn't anything quite the same during this era. I would have to say Ian Curtis's epileptic fits trump thom yorke's

Re: Joy Division
um, actually interpol has a strong joy division influence, sorry. Listen to the way Banks' sings. He's totally copying Ian Curtis. I'm not comparing quality by any means.
Re: Joy Division
turn on the bright lights is as good as any joy division album. better, imo

Re: Joy Division

Re: Joy Division
There's plenty to love from the 80s. The Cocteau Twins instantly come to mind. Robin Guthrie is still making timeless guitar music.
Re: Joy Division
the only classic band from the 80s in my eyes is xtc
