any fans? i gotta go see them for free the other night at the casino venue here in council bluffs. it was kinda crazy how it happened but i'm glad it did.
i've only heard some of the cage the elephants stuff before, mostly the radio tunes. but they were alright, a lot more punky/garage rock then i thought they would be.
the black keys were the deal breaker for me. i've been a fan ever since i heard 10 a.m. automatic on a compilation cd my first year at college. been following them ever since. it was the first time seeing them live and they were pretty fucking great. they even played an extended version of my favorite song, Stack Shot Billy. my only gripe was that their set just wasnt that long, but the weather was kinda shitty so that may have been why. that, or they wanted to get the show over with so they could go gamble in the casinos..lol

Re: the Black Keys/Cage The Elephant
I usually dig cage the elephant if i hear them playing somewhere or on the radio.
Personally I think the Black Keys are overrated.

I love them both, would love to see them on tour together but they totally skipped MA. Saw Cage the Elephant open for STP last summer and it was great. Black Keys I saw as an opener I think for Beck years ago but I didn't pay attention to their set and totally regret it now that I love their music. I read they are going back to the studio after this tour, pretty excited for some new music from them.
