the fact that i am most likely not be going to 3/11 day.
It just doesn't seem like it will work out for me.
None of my girl friends are really into 311 enough to shell out the kind of cash it would require to make the trip to memphis. if it was being held in new orleans still, the promise of the whole mardi gras type experience might sway at least one girl, but memphis doesnt have the same pull. my parents wont let me travel alone, and they wont let me travel with any of the people from my area from the forums because.. theyre guys. it would have most likely been puma or fatlip. I know that you are all thinking, "Well Ally, you dumb shit, you are 19, and are legally an adult, so tell your parents to suck it, and go to Memphis anyways!"
i can't do that. i just can't. it would be cause of too much internal bullshit.
so im pretty upset.
i missed last time because i was "too young" and I felt so upset then. I can only imagine what will happen now. The only hope is that like, if time passes and i can still score a ticket or two closer to the date, i could make some last minute arrangements, and scoot on over to TN and like, sleep on the street or some shit. but for now, i dont think i can go.

Worked for me in (2004-senior year of high school) and this yea). In 2004 my 2 friends parents let them go too haha. I saw my mom only a few times the entire weekend and she covered everything for me

I wrote my mom this huge emotional letter to let me go to the the 2002 show when i was a senior in HS. Told her how much 311 has effected my life and what it would mean to me and my friends to have one last hurrah as seniors to go to this show. A bunch of other bullshit was in the letter and she cried and gave in and let me go to the show and take her van down to new orleans from chicago. This letter also helped convince my friends parents to allow them to go as well. Give it a try.
