BASICALLY i figure i dont need the shit to have fun, but if i start to use it, its harder to have fun without it later on. its a personal thing. i have nothing against drugs or the responsible use of -- but they're just not for me.

sometimes i have to take vicodin for my back and i hate not being in my normal mental state. the only thing i've ever ENJOYED as far as intoxication goes, and even this was mild, was when the dentist OD'd me on nitrous oxide. i got so fucked up i fell asleep for 6 hours and woke up still stoned. i didnt LIKE it, its just that it made me laugh a lot and i like to laugh.

the 'straight edge philosophy' is basically what you consider to be a clean healthy(ish) lifestyle. the few rules are no drinking/drugs/promiscuous sex. how far you take it past there is up to the individual.

basically, for me, i barely even take drugs that i'm prescribed. in fact, i usually sell them

my caffiene intake is minimal compared to most americans anyway. i rarely ever drink coffee.. most of the tea i drink is white, sometimes green, once-twice a year black. as far as promiscuous sex goes, i don't do that either. everyone i've ever done anything with was/is a friend of mine, which isnt always the best thing because now i have friends i've hooked up with (basically all the female ones) and it puts a strain on every relationship i've had.

i've had to cut off some ties to some people for that reason. oh well, those were the shitty ones anyway.

aside from that, yeah, i'm straight edge, and i have been since 1997. and no, i don't do it for the "image".
