I have yet to read a bad Hunter S Thompson book. The Rum Diary is my favorite, and they happen to be making a movie about it soon with Johnny Depp being Hunter again. When I was reading it I thought it would be cool for them to do it, couple months after I read it they announce that they are doing that haha.
Nick Hornby is good too. High Fidelity is a great book. I read it before I saw the movie. Thought the movie sucked after reading the book. Have a few other books of his to read.
Right now I am reading Dave Navarro's "Don't Try This At Home". So far it is really good. He started it while he was still on drugs. Put off finishing it until he was off of them.
My favorite book that I have read so far has to go to the Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy series. Its so hilarious and clever, if you enjoyed the style of the movie you will love the books.
Yes, and all of the Palahniuk books. Extremely interesting writer.
A couple books that mix modern philosophy with great stories:
-Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance by Robert M. Pirsig. About a guy road tripping on a motorcycle and all the thoughts and conversations along the way. Amazing. Deep and analytical.
-Ishmael... forgot the author's name. About a talking ape who teaches a human about humanity. Sounds a bit cheesy, but it's a great book.
and in the end
the love you take
is equal to
the love you make

enders game is a really good book, and one of the few required readings in HS that i didnt mind.
Yeah I read it for school, I almost read some other book because it was shorter but my one armed teacher Mr.Russo reccomended enders game, and I'm really glad he did. I'm going to end up reading the whole series. The books after ender's game get more political. But they all have to do with alien species.
I've never read Ender's Game. My roommate last year was a high school Engligh teacher too. I've been meaning to read it, and she kept saying she was going to bring her copy back from school so I could read it but it never happened. I've head its' a really good book from just about everyone who's read it.
i don't want to say i'm a "born again christian" i just rediscovered my faith to be honest. it's really good if you're not into religion that much. but in my case i loved it.
anything by chuck, c'mon it's chuck!
ann ryand "atlas shrugged" and "the fountainhead" for those who want a lengthy read.
