I'm an internet noob all over again. Halp?

I have windows xp (laugh, get it out of your system.... go on...) and it is very difficult to find drivers for anything. Maybe you savvy mother fuckers can help me with something here.

I have a generic 5 megapixel webcam that didn't come with any software. I think it's a microsoft webcam, but I'm not sure.

I just want to be able to record video using this webcam, but I can't find/figure out how to get a program that will do that. Skype doesn't seem to do it.

God I feel stupid right now.

I was thinking about making a videoblog.

It's about 9 inches tall, with a suction cup on one end, an a red, oval shaped camera for a head. The neck is wire, so it bends to any position I want it in. No serial numbers or anything.
