Ferguson
Can someone sum this up for me?
Facebook says I should be outraged...is this true or is this people on facebook blowing things out of proportion like they usually do?

Re: Ferguson
Completely depends on where you look for your news. I can tell you that is has a lot of coverage from sources that aren't the big networks, which obviously adds fuel to the fire.
Re: Ferguson
unarmed black dude murdered by a white cop while his hands were up (according to multiple witnesses)
entire area up in arms (predominantly black)
(relatively) peaceful protests
militarized police
teargas, sound array (causes hearing damage) and rubber bullets at civilian crowd in residential neighborhood
essentially army vs. neighborhood people

I've been hearing that apparently he was wanted for a robbery. Any truth to this?
I really need to get better about watching/reading the news.

Re: Ferguson
yes he was wanted for robbery.. however, that's not why he was stopped.. he was stopped because he was walking in the street. the officer had NO IDEA that he had just robbed some store. doesn't change the facts.

Re: Ferguson
Ahh.
So another case of a cop being a prick and shit escalating far beyond what it should have.
Have people been rioting and looting? On a side note, I never did understand the looting portion of it. I get you're pissed, but stealing shit from innocent bystanders is just simply selfish.

MLK is spinnin
Re: Ferguson
Uh, ...
The officer(s) had a description of the "robbers", & he fit the description (Black male, tall, wearing white t-shirt, jeans, red ball cap), ... along with, inconveniently, smoking a cigar (stolen) while walking down the middle of the street. It had only been approximately 15 minutes since the FELONY ROBBERY had taken place.
I hate friggin' cops, ... but that type of behavior, & information being disseminated on the police end, IS going to get you picked out of the crowd, & no apologies need to be made for that.

except the officer has been reported to not have had that information before the incident.

Re: Ferguson
and therein lies the debate. i'm not taking sides. the moral of this whole thing is that nobody has all of the facts and quite a few people are willing to jump on one side of the issue or the other

Re: Ferguson
Okay so what's up with this news that the witness was lying?
And I heard that the guy had a knife and was lunging towards the officer, which goes against the initial report of him just having his hands up.
Any truth to either?
