I don't know what your state law is, but it would behoove your company to have you apply for the position, while at the same time accepting other applications. Just giving someone a position can be harmful for a company and can make them vulnerable to a law suit or fines.

I had to look up the word "behoove" lol. I don't think I'm really the right person for the job mostly because I lack the experience needed for the position. I'm still interested and willing to learn but I have my doubts.

What happened with this? .. Nate is right, your company technically should do an applicant search and interview the top 60% of qualified applicants in order to make things "fair" and protect themselves from liability... But that doesn't mean they didn't choose you ahead of time.

It's crazy watching him work, just in the last 2 weeks we've almost doubled the amount of business we do. He's a crazy son of a bitch and I really enjoy working for him. He did tell me he's got big plans for me, so we'll see what happens with that.
