I brought my SVT 4-Pro in to get fixed...

Post by miT_311 »

...exactly one month ago today.

The guy hasn't even called me to tell me what the problem is yet.

How pissed should I be?

FUCK ME.

"Hey Andrew,

I got your Ampeg on the bench last week and started working on it.

I need to order a bunch of parts for your amp and wanted to let you know whats up.

The B side power amp is pretty messed up,you almost burnt a hole completely through the circuit board.

I guessing the cost to be between $300.00 and $400.00 to rebuild side B.

Let me know if that's OK and I'll get parts ordered

thanks

Should I....

Sell it broken for $200-300 and spend that plus the $300-$400 that I'll save on a new amp?
Spend $300-$400 to fix it then sell it for $600-$700 to spend on a new amp?
Spend $300-$400 to fix it and then keep it.

All three options end up with me spending $300-$400. It's just a matter of selling it or keeping it. And could I find a replacement for $600-$700?

:(

This is almost relevant... do you know what the cheapest way to ship a guitar and amp, or possibly just an amp, cross country? (CT to AZ)

My poor guitar and amp are sitting unplayed at my moms house... and I want to get them to my house here, is there an economical way? BTW I will be flying too, maybe you know if I can somehow get an amp on the plane without it getting damaged by baggage handlers? In my mind it will be like some enormous 300 dollar shipping fee and Id be better off buying new stuff.

you sure it's the slot and not the actually mpc? Like if the pins are physically bent then yeah it's salvagable but it may be more severe. I hope it isn't because the mpc 1000 is a bad-ass sampler. strap a kaoss pad to it and you're set
