first off, I'm not a racist.

everybody is exaggerating this more than they should. i know the guy has a few tiffs with certain people like howard stern and a few politicians, who doesn't? it's good entertainment to watch his show sometimes in the morning because he provides a good argument on a certain thing.

other than his "fights" with the above mentioned, his show wasn't all that big of a deal. he'd give his opinion, open the call lines, listeners would agree or disagree, end of show. he's not a bad guy, he has his charity organizations with the imus ranch and raises a good bit of money every year and whatnot. he hasn't had a run-in with this sort of thing (recent comments) in the past.

after saying this, people want him practically crucified. he goes on sharpton's radio show and acts like a human being who admits to making a mistake and sharpton unloads on him. the guy apologizes as much as a human can. he made one comment, he didn't kill an african american, didn't start up the KKK again. it was a bad thing to do, no doubt, but the man apologized. nothing much you can do.

what bothers me the most is that rappers and so forth have been doing this since as far back as i can remember and all people do is stomp (or steamroll) that particular artists records. one old white guy makes one comment and people think he's a typical bigot.

but, like i first mentioned, the press are blowing the hell out of this story. by the end of the year, nobody will remember this.

no, calling a college womens basketball team "a bunch of nappy headed ho's" that "look like the Toronto Raptors" isnt right. he's a radio journalist, not a gangsta rapper/ entertainer, that kind of talk makes all the hillbillies in his audience think its alright to say these kinds of things.

Theyre saying its ok since Snoopdogg says things like that, but heres what snoop has to say:

First off I'm not racist, and I strongly dissagree with the decision to fire Imus due the fact that he comments on every walk of life.

Black people hold themselves to a double standard (as well as many other groups and subcultures in our country). It pisses me off that black people wish to be viewed one way by blacks and another by whites. Why is it ok for black males to refer to black females as "bitch hoes" but as soon as a white man refers to a black female as a "ho", all of a sudden it is unacceptable and racially intollerable? The blacks can do it but the whites can't....sounds like racial prejudice towards white people if you ask me(not really but you get the point). Why is it ok for there to be millions and millions of rap albums sold with the N word, phases talking about 'bitch n#$$&!" "bitch hoes", violence and the "thug" life style. Is black America publicizing the way they want to be viewed? If we "had" to fire Imus, we should also cancel BET, because what kind of positive light does BET put black America in? If black people find certain slangs and slurs offensive when whites say it, they should quit saying it themselves. White America doesn't go around calling themselves crackers. The jewish population doesn't do around calling each other kikes. Mexican americans don't greet each other with a freindly, "hows it going bean breath". Even rednecks don't even call each other rednecks!!!! Why does black America publicize a word it is so strongly against?

Al Sharpton = Piece of Shit. It frustrates the hell out of me to see someone who is so anti semitic, and so extremely verbal about it, to not be held accountable for his words and then he goes out and makes a big deal over something like this. Al Sharpton, if you want white America to not say these things about "your people", tell "your people" to stop saying these things about themselves. Black America degrades itself far far worse than any comment or group from white America can or does.

bottom line-he said nothing racist...he said, in slang, that one group of black women looked good and presentable and the others looked unkept. thats all.

I honestly thing that the 2 week suspension was more than enough for the actions, however I just didn't like Imus to begin with, therefore I am ok that he got fired.
