NEW EPISODES OF SAVED BY THE BELL, INCLUDING MOSTLY THE OLD CAST, MINUES ELIZABETH BERKLEY
Saved By the Bell - Back In Production!
04/19/2006
Adult Swim has done it again! Following hot on the heels of Fox's Family Guy, Saved By The Bell has been pulled from cancellation with an order for 30 all new episodes taking place at Bayside High.
"We were ecstatic when we saw the early numbers on Saved By the Bell on Adult Swim," said Matt Laster, the VP of Turner Entertainment's newly created 80's Reclamation Department. "We knew this had the potential to be big, but we never thought it would be this big. The fans have really shown their support and come out in droves on the adultswim.com website."
According to Laster, the new series is still in development but he did say that almost all of the original cast would be returning, minus "Showgirls" star Elizabeth Berkley. The series will follow the events after Saved By the Bell: The New Class and find Screech as the new principal of Bayside and a retired Mr. Belding as the proprietor of the Max, the hangout that the Saved By the Bell gang frequented. Screech is overwhelmed by the new group of students and puts out a call for help, and soon, all of the old regulars are back at Bayside. Laster would not elaborate on the status of Zack and Kelly's relationship, though the couple were last seen walking down the aisle.
"I've spoken to the crew and they really can't wait to get back together," said Laster. "We think this will be a fun and exciting new direction for Adult Swim and we can't wait to find even more great 80's comedies for Adult Swim."
god i cannot wait for this

yea it aint no joke. but i dont understand why theyre wasting more money on that franchise. SBtB: the new class failed, as did the college years. people are only watching SBtB on adult swim because they go there expecting family guy, but see zack and screech and watch it for nostalgia purposes. the new show is probably gonna be zack telling new students about his hijinks in school and how it helped him be a better person. i can see it now.

I hope it's a joke. Jimmy, you don't seem to realize how horribly this show is going to bomb if it gets made.
Saved by the bell was fucking awesome. For it's time. It won't be authentic if they get it back again now. I can't imagine all the cast members wanting to come back. Unless they're all completely washed up this will be suicide for their careers.

man that show kicks ass, that commericial with them singing "friendsssss foreverrr" is so fucking funny. I think it was fucking genious to bring it back on adult swim but I saw that article the other day and was wondering if it was a joke because I can't really see it working. The old episodes kick ass and I think some of the cast probably feels really good that the show is on adult swim because people usually tend to connect adult swim with "cool" nowadays, so maybe they feel a little better about being connected to it. But I really can't imagine zach coming back when he already has moved on with his career on that law show and stuff like that, i just find it really hard to believe, and it definetly will be a disaster, they need to just keep playing the old ones, i'm happy enough with those.
