Re: emy, ally, justin, hizzy, alex, ska....
DROWNING IN HOMEWORKZ
But seriously, I'm working 40 hours a week and taking 5 classes. I'm potentially on death row here. Midterms this week
Biology
Business Law
American People (post 1945)
Accounting
English Literature
the rest of the week I spend my time faxing, doing dishes, making lunch runs, emptying trash cans, smiling at people who creep me out, biting my tongue, doodling and answering the phone ever so sweetly with "This is Emily, how can I help you?"

I've been studying Swedish for a pretty long time now. I got accepted to study in Uppsala last sumer but I just didn't have the money. Hopefully I'll get accepted again for this summer. I'm already saving up for it so I'm not too worried.$lmjimy311 wrote:haha why is your keyboard in Swedish?
I can't fucking wait to romp around Sweden in adorable summer dresses and do horribly cliché things like pick flowers and twirl around in parks. It's gonna be so dope.
If you remember, Shiny and i decided one day to learn Swedish as a joke. Snipe successfully located the Swedish set for Rosetta Stone and we began. I think Shiny got as far as "flygplanet flyger" but as you can tell I went full scale with it. .. Sometimes I even think in Swedish.

Lurker here, Just FYI my good friend is from Sweden he said it's real easy to get a visa you just have to get married or there are some other ways too especially for USA/UK peeps etc. The good thing about Sweden is you get unemployment for life even if you don't work you get paid lol. It's a socialist country, but very small. It's good for the average person though. Recently, from 2001 - 2010 Sweden has done much better economically than the US and now the average person is better off then in the States. You could find a job much more easily there especially if you can speak both languages. Work for IKEA HQ.. jus some info.

lol @ IKEA HQ. I would love to marry a Swede! Just for the novelty of having dual citizenship.
Yeah I'm pretty sure I could find some kind of a job there with either an American corporation or with a Swedish corporation (like IKEA) that is super popular in English speaking countries. Most Swedes speak English anyway, so i don't think I'd have too rough of a time going over there.

Yeah! Rosetta Stone is pretty ill. I've also put a lot of time into grammar books, dictionaries, history books and other things. Rosetta Stone is a great foundation to build on, but I wouldn't say that you become full on fluent. ... Then again Swedish only goes to Level 3 while others like Spanish, German, French and Russian all go to level 5.. so maybe with those someone can become fluent.
Re: emy, ally, justin, hizzy, alex, ska....
yeah Rosetta Stone isn't a gimmick at all... no need to doubt it, seems it's the real deal, emz is the real proof. but just the fact that I can remember a few swedish nouns after only doing a couple sessions almost 4 years ago shows that it can have a pretty meaningful immediate impact that sticks with you. big ups to emily for being 100% dedicated to swedish
