Re: a pet peeve
A lot of people who say they are maturing aren't using at as a replacement for being "not good anymore" A lot of those people think their sound is maturing, but they ARE still in fact good. Me being one of them. Later Agreed. You can't make the same sounding music for 20 years and have su...

Re: a high set analysis
I'll agree with that. Not the best lyrics but still some good parts. I agree the music definitely carries this song though.greenmonkey911 wrote:Daisy Cutter's lyrics don't come off as "epic" to me, but they are quite clever. Pretty close to being a saving grace.

Re: a high set analysis
Word to the noobs around here. We know you've only been listening to 311 for a couple of years. Stop trying to pretend you're oldschool. There's just no way a sane person could like the 311 from mid 90's to now. By the looks of your girlfirend that doesn't have her driver's license yet, and slimjim...

Re: Fall Tour...2 Songs from each album
you can come up with "your" best 311 setlists over and over but these wont ever happen for regular shows. face it 311 is on cruse control now same sets with two or three mix ups. My glass is half full. Plus, I'm thinking they'll back off the new stuff since they played it so much over the...

Let's Assume Applied Science, Beautiful Disaster, Down, All Remixed Up, Amber, and Creatures are for sure... Music: Freak Out, Visit Grassroots: Taiyed, Silver Blue Album: Misdirected Hostility, T&P Transistor: Running, Use of Time Soundsystem: Freeze Time, Life's Not a Race From Chaos: I Told M...

Re: a high set analysis
Yea I don't really care if we don't agree on something. It's all opinion anyway. I think we can all agree that there are still great songs on the album. Jorge's general attitude just sucks and pisses me off because if you don't agree with him then you "know nothing about music" and should ...

Re: a high set analysis
You have contradicted yourself a few times on here as I have stated in another post. We go round and round and this last post sums it up. You basically just restated Freezetime21 with different and ended up agreeing with him. Show me in quotes. I'll admit my faults. I already did that a few posts a...

Re: a high set analysis
LMAO this is a circular argument. The overall summary of this argument is to come to some consensus of the term radio friendly. Too sit and bash each other over a term that can be interpreted many different ways. Jorge when you keep telling somebody they completely don' get what the term means you a...

Re: a high set analysis
I'm just saying that if you wanna use the term "radio friendly" then use it right. The Blue Album is much more "radio friendly" than Uplifter, or any of 311's newer albums. If you think the new stuff is too "radio friendly" and poppy, just understand that the Blue Album...

Re: a high set analysis
In all fairness using wikipedia as a research tool for anything is potentially unreliable. I'd bet that wikipedia is a lot more accurate than any history book you've used in school Another ignorant post. Come to think of it, I haven't seen you post anything on here yet that has come close to resemb...

Re: a high set analysis
You got your opinion. But the truth is the last two albums haven't gotten much time on the radio at all. While the blue album and even come original from Soundsystem get the most plays. I have heard hey you twice on the radio since the release, and DTOM about the same when it came out. So if 311 is...

Re: a high set analysis
like it was said earlier, radio friendly doesnt mean that they will have radio success. learn that, accept that. no one also said that they have successfully made radio friendly music. it could easily be said that they have attempted to make music that is radio friendly have failed at though. (dont...

Re: a high set analysis
311 is radio friendly now, thats a fact. Pnut already stated why the bsides for uplfiter didn't make the cut based on not being catchy and radio enough. Stop trying to argue otherwise because you sound retarded. If anything looking back in retrospect, albums like music, grass, and transistor has pro...

Re: a high set analysis
Coast, I'll talk in depth at a later date, because I am preparing to leave for Florida right now. Freeze Time, you misunderstand the idea of radio friendly. Radio friendly DOESN'T mean successful. Radio friendly is a term used towards songs and bands that are easily digestible in the sense that the...

Re: Guitar Players?
I play a few 311 covers with my gigging band and a lot more in my side-band garage project. Faves include Nutsymtom, Use of Time, Life's Not a Race, and Fuck the Bullshit. Here's what I play with. GIGS: Schecter C-1 Plus with custom pickups: Air Zone in the bridge, Screamin' Demon in the neck Mu-Tr...
